went back to the beach today to get a little more stacking in. the top portion of my St. Stephen’s day stack, the part resting on the four corners, had fallen down, but the rest of it was still there. I started by making another stack next to it, then bridged the gap with a long stone, then continued to build across the space between.
thought the entirety was going to fall, but it didn’t. it’s interesting how little contact between two objects you need to counteract their inward thrust. someone else’s stack is visible in the background… someone has been working over the last week, slowly, building a large, stable pile.
I’ll be stacking again tomorrow between noon and three, if anyone wants to stop by and join me.
