it’s IMPORTANT to remember to take photos before doing something risky to your art. I remember that infrequently, and when I do, I usually still ignore my better sense and keep working, only for the stack to topple. this happened three times while making this little guy. luckily, it was small enough that I could throw it back together again quickly. the fourth time, I decided to take a few pics before I went on.
now that I had done what I ought to, of course the second stage went up without a hitch. isn’t that the way?
both the the base and the top are less ambitious and complex than the previous, unphotographed attempts, but I think the point comes across nonetheless. felt like a nice momentary project on a gray, wet day. always a pleasure to visit the beach in some non-standard weather.
