The important thing in life is to learn and to love. The more you know, the more you will see. I work in the medium of stone because it’s unforgiving and rough with long lasting elements, but detailed, flowing, and multiplicitous. Stones will wear down your rashness and your need for control, but will make you strong and resilient. Working with stone is making me into the person I want to be. Thinking through my hands and feet, maneuvering and evaluating as I go, when I’m at the beach I let go of a lot of the tension, resentment, and ego that you build up when working in what self-deluded people call the “real world.”

  2. Let me guess. Your mother is Tamara. I’m not surprised. I’m an old friend. Best regards to you and your family.

  3. Alex, you have a wonderful blog and your installations are wonderful explorations. I am fond of the structure- and form-search, as well as the draw to wabi-sabi. It is inspiring to “hear” your voice again. I have tracked you down to report that the NJ Meadowlands Commission is going to exhibit work from our Fall 2012 NJIT studio. Congrats to you, sir. Please contact me so I can provide more details. Best, Ira
